Overview

 

VISTO Performing Arts Camp creates immersive, week-long camp experiences that combine creative arts, community, and faith-based learning. The Content & Curriculum Planner will be passionate about creativity, storytelling, and shaping meaningful learning experiences for young people. Working behind the scenes, this role focuses on writing, refining, and finalizing specific components of camp curriculum to ensure content is engaging, age-appropriate, and ready for implementation.



Through collaboration with VISTO leadership, the Content & Curriculum Planner will help bring camp themes to life through clear writing, creative structure, and thoughtful planning. This role requires strong writing skills, creativity, attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to meet deadlines while contributing to curriculum that supports character, faith, and creative growth for campers ages 5–14.

Your Responsibilities & Duties

 

  • Curriculum Writing & Development
  • Write and finalize assigned components of VISTO camp curriculum
  • Ensure content is clear, well-structured, and ready for staff implementation
  • Adapt language and activities to be age-appropriate and engaging
  • Align curriculum with VISTO’s themes, faith foundations, and learning objectives
  • Creative & Dramatic Development
  • Contribute creative ideas for storytelling, skits, characters, and dramatic moments
  • Support the design and planning of simple props, visual elements, and creative tools
  • Ensure creative elements are practical, achievable, and effective in a camp setting
  • Collaborate with leadership to refine how content comes to life on stage and in small groups
  • Detail, Clarity & Readiness
  • Review curriculum for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and completeness
  • Ensure instructions, transitions, and activity outlines are easy for staff to follow
  • Prepare curriculum materials so they are “camp-ready” and well-organized
  • Make thoughtful edits and revisions based on feedback
  • Time Management & Delivery
  • Work within set timelines and meet curriculum deadlines consistently
  • Manage multiple curriculum components at different stages of completion
  • Communicate progress clearly and proactively with leadership
  • Support final handoff of completed curriculum for training and camp use

NOTE: Candidates applying for any position with VISTO Camp must complete the application in full. A Police Check in the Vulnerable Sector will be needed, if requested.

Job Type:                           Full-time contract, 35 hours/week

Hourly Wage:                    $17.60-$21.00 per hour
